FAVE 5 : Deep Conditioners

With the summer months slowly winding away and fall and winter arriving, it’s imperative to make sure your hair is healthy. Winter conditions can cause havoc on natural hair and waiting til November to do something about it is too late.

I deep condition my hair weekly. My hair routine consists of the following

  • Oil treatment (leave in for 5-6 hours)
  • Shampoo (sulfate free of course)
  • Deep Condition (8-10 hours or overnight. 90% of the time my conditioner is left in overnight. I wash it out in the A.M. Apply product and put in bun to let dry.

A good conditioner can leave your hair smooth but most of all healthy and nourished. I am subscribed to so many boxes it’s unreal (Curlbox, Ipsy, Essence, Walmart, Target…..seriously it’s ridiculous). The great thing about them is that I get items to try that I normally wouldn’t go in the store and purchase. So…here is my FAVE 5 Deep Conditioners not in any particular order.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recover Hair Mask – $7.99 … This conditioner isn’t strictly for natural hair but the amount of moisture it puts back in your hair in amazing. Most deep conditioners are thick in consistency. This mask is really good for those that have really thick hair. It’s thickness is really able to penetrate the dry hair.

Curls Blueberry Hair Mask – $14.99 … I got this mask in my August Curlbox and was excited to get the entire blueberry line. I had heard a lot of positive reviews about it and just hadn’t gotten around to buying it so when this came to my doorstep I was intrigued. The first thing I noticed about this mask was the smell. It smelled so good. This mask is good with defining my curls. It didn’t leave my hair as soft as the others when rinsing out but their leave in conditioner does the job.

Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hair Mask – $11.99 … Picked this one up at Sally after being given a sample. I use this conditioner after I have applied heat to my hair or after protective style (crochet braids, perm rods, etc). It does a good job replenishing my hair. I wouldn’t recommend weekly use because it is a heavy conditioner but after your hair being up for weeks at a time, this is a good conditioner to bring life and moisture back to your hair

SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Intensive Strengthening Masque – $10.99 … This mask has Black Castor Oil that encourages hair growth. Enough said….

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioning Creme – $2.50 … This is the mask that I use on a weekly basis. It’s not too thick to weigh down my hair but still provides the right amount of moisture. It’s not for natural hair and does contain a small amount of alcohol but with the aloe and jojoba that it also contains is a win win for me.

Until Next Friday,
