When did the South decide to actually have a winter? I wasn’t prepared for the winter we’re having…I actually need winter coats, thick scarves, and an updated skin care routine.
Winter has a tendency to dry out your skin. Between the cold temperatures and the dry wind conditions, it’s important to make sure your skin care products contain the right ingredients to moisturize your skin while also providing a barrier from the harsh winter conditions. Here are some easy swaps
Moving from a foam cleanser to cream helps you skin adjust to the drier weather conditions
Helps trap and seal the skin’s moisture
Sheet masks are quick and easy. Apply, light a candle, turn off the lights, and for 15 minutes, pretend you’re at a spa while the mask works its magic.
My rule is the thicker the better. If you can turn the jar upside down without anything falling out, it’s a keeper
Try to avoid matte foundations (especially for my dry skin ladies) and swap for a dewy foundation or tinted moisturizer. If you want a matte finish, use a setting spray.
Whether you have dry skin or not, a couple of drops in your moisturizer will go a long way
The same way a body scrub removed dead skin cells, I lip scrub is beneficial in gently exfoliating dead skin. Follow up with a lip balm to hydrate and protect your lips from cold temps.
I know…I know….it’s winter and you’re not sure why you have to wear sunscreen during the winter months. Sunscreen is a 365 commitment. If you’re like me and you can’t seem to remember, find a facial cream or tinted moisturized that also contains spf.
Stay hydrated loves and stay tuned for my spring skin care routine!
