I've probably done more shopping this month than I should have. In my defense, I was able to get some great deals. With the summer months approaching us, I always take this time to change or adjust my skin and beauty routine or make time for new goals. Here are some things I've been crushing on this month:Reading and Writing:I've always been an avid reader. I actually prefer to read rather than watch TV. This month, I've started a new book outside of my usual reading preference. My goal is to read 2-3 books each month. It may sound easy but with my full time job (Senior Accountant), my social life (or the lack thereof), and blogging/vlogging, it has presented a challenge finish that 3rd book. I'm hoping to accomplish that 3rd book goal in June and as the months progress. I've also stared back jotting down my thoughts. Not so mush as a journal that recaps my day but a thinking journal. As thoughts/ideas/inspirations come to me, I'm taking this time to jot them down. This will be something that I take with me everywhere I go and not just making a home for itself on my nightstandBeauty Routine:Summer is the perfect time to change/adjust your routine. I normally spend more time outside during the summer months and with the humidity of the South, it's imperative that I change my beauty routine. I picked up this foundation and concealer after hearing rave reviews about it. After trying it for the first time, I was hooked. I love the coverage it provides while still being lightweight enough to wear outside in the summer.Unless I'm going to an event, lashes are a no go for me. These two mascaras are able to give me the volume that I need without over exaggerating my lashes.Skin CareIf you haven't tried this new skin care line from Bath and Body Works, you're missing out. Normally I only shop at BBW for candles and hand soaps. Their lotions and body wash's were too too scented for me. I was shopping there one weekend and came across this line. I tried the lotion in store and was sold. It wasn't too scented and the thickness of the body cream was just what I needed. I suffer from dry skin in the summer and this body cream coupled with oil, makes my skin feel smooth and hydrating (tip: mix about 1/3 of the oil in with the lotion...works wonders on skin). The collection was on sale 2/$22....Check out the collection here:Perfume:Love this scent. Nice and fruity....Leave-in Conditioner:I came upon this by total accident. I had my hair in a protective style. Went to in-laws for the weekend. Totally hated the protective style and proceeded to take down immediately. I carried no products with me so I had to go to the nearest Walmart to get some products for my hair. I saw this and thought it was just normal leave in conditioner. It wasn't until I got back to my in-laws house (30 miles) away that I realized it was for kids. I refused to make that trip back to the store and decided to use it anyway. LOVE IT! Not sure why it's only for kids because this is an amazing leave in conditioner. Love the slippage and the softness it added back to my hair. Honorable Mentions:New Alex and Ani bracelets - slowly adding to my obsession with this jewelry linePink Lippies - I'm normally a neutral lip kind of girl but I've been slowly trying to add a little color to my collection.Gemstone Crystal - was able to get this at Marshall's for $10 - a steal in my bookGreen Tea - I love Harry and David teas.
