My Everyday Makeup Routine
I'm not that person that believes less is more. I love sitting down and getting a full BEAT face. I love the lashes, eye shadow, contour, and winged eye liner sharp enough to give you a paper cut. However, as much as I would like to devote an hour to my makeup everyday, that's not feasible for me.Over the last few months, I've been critiquing my everyday makeup routine and found some great items that give me a great look without sacrificing my time.
Primer: SMASHBOX Photo Finish Oil & Shine Control Primer
I deal with oil skin (especially on my forehead and around my nose) and this has helped with controlling that oil. Haven't tried it for spring and summer months but I'm hopeful.
Concealer: Morphe Fluidity Full-Coverage Concealer
I got this in my Ipsy box and was shocked that 1. they were able to match skin and 2. of the coverage. I use this along with my foundation
Foundation: Maybelline Super Stay Multi-Use Foundation Stick in Warm Coconut
This is the BEST stick foundation I have tried. That includes the expensive brands. It's a cream to matte foundation making it easy to apply and the finish isn't to drying to my skin. I keep at least 2 of these in my makeup drawer AT-ALL-TIMES!!
Setting Powder: FENTY BEAUTY Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Setting Powder
I had other setting powders when this came out but when Rihanna drops a new item, I feel obligated to at least sample it. I got the mini version and loved the results and have been using it since (RIP to my existing setting powders rotting away in my makeup drawer until I muster up the strength to trash them)
Eyeliner: MAC Technakohl Liner in Graphblack
I don't apply upper lid liner but need a little something under my lids or my eyes will literally look like they're closed. This gives me the little boost I'm looking for and doesn't smear despite me constantly touching my eyes throughout the day.
Eyebrows: Morphe Micro Brow Pencil & Glossier Boy Brow in Brown
My lashes are already thick but I like to fill in my brows with the Pencil and use the Glossier wand to feather my brows. This has been my go to brow routine for several months.
Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara & Thrive Causmetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara
This mascara duo is great at lifting and providing tons of volume to my lashes to give the illusion that I have more than 50 lashes on each eye.
Blush: BH Cosmetics Blushing in Bali - Coral
I know it's wasteful and crazy to buy this 6 color palette for only one blush but I had been looking for months for this color and haven't been able to find it in a single version. The good thing is, I only use a little at a time and am still working on the same compact I bought back in July.
Lipstick: Milani Amore Satin Matte Lip Crème in Devotion
As you can see, I keep my makeup routine simple but need a little something to have my makeup stand out and this bold red lip does the trick. I've used this red lip religiously and even though its a heavy matte lip, I never worry about having to reapply throughout the day.
Setting Spray: Urban Decay Cosmetics All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
I don't have a preference. I either switch between this one or NYX All Matte Spray. As long as it lasts and prevents transferring, I'm all for it.
That's it! This routine takes less than 15 minutes but still gives me a great look. Don't believe me, take a look for yourselves!
