Wardrobe Basics - Spring Edition
Thank Heavens! Spring is almost here!! I don't know where you live but in Alabama, it feels like it's been raining for 40 days and 40 nights. There was a moment when I had to make sure I hadn't transported to Seattle with all this rain. I know it may seem like I'm complaining and yes I am!! Thankfully, the rain is gone, the sun is shining, the days are longer, and with all that comes warm weather.I'm not that person that goes out and buys a completely new wardrobe with the changing of every season but there are some essentials that I make sure I have or may need to replenish depending on how long I've had them. Wardrobe basics can be worn several different ways and add more outfit options to your capsule. I live in neutrals and love being able to play around with some of these pieces.
White Tee
My spring/summer wardrobe is basically white tee and bottoms. Just give me 14 white tees and I'm set for the entire season.
White Jeans
The transition from skinny jeans to mom and boyfriend jeans is making it easier to style white jeans several different ways.
Colorful Mules
Thanks goodness these are still in style. I have way too many to give away for the next 'in' shoe.
Smock Dress
Need to be dressed in 5 mins but confused on what to wear, smock dress, cute handbag, and some sandals, mules, or even chunky sneakers and you've put together a great outfit in no time.
Comfy/Chic Sandals
because you should never have to compromise comfort over being chic
Mom Jeans
Skinny jeans are a definite no go with this warm weather. Mom jeans still gives you a silhouette but without cutting off circulation to your thighs
Slip Dress
dress up for date night, dress down for shopping, go super casual to the farmers market...there's something for everything
Chunky Gold Necklace
Statements pieces are now being made in dainty necklaces and earrings.
Satin Cami
Picture it: Mom jeans + satin cami + blazer = perfect outfit
Anything Linen
Did I forget to tell you I live in the South? I need all the breathable fabric and linen gives me the chic look while also make sure my back in dripping with sweat.
What are some of your wardrobe basics? Are you ready for spring as much as I am?
