10 Recipes to Try This Week ... You Know ... While we have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do but Bake!
First of all let's have a mental check-inHow are you feeling? What's 3 things you're grateful for right now? Take 10 seconds and jot them downDo you love flowers? If so, grab some the next time you're out buying groceries. We are in a state of unknown. Stay at home March as turned into April and what looks like May. I struggled initially to find reason and balance to being in the house for 22 hours a day. After a couple of weeks, I'm slowly finding a routine. Working on things that I've put off, fixing things around the house, daily walks around the neighborhood with husband, and trying my hand at baking.I loved Pioneer Women! I could watch her all day and never grow tired of her cooking. I've also been watching Joanna Gaines Instagram to get some great cooking tips. I've never been a wiz in the kitchen but love trying new things. Over the last month, I've been trying a new recipe each week and am slowly falling in love with flower, and kneading, and the scent that permeates from my kitchen. Here are some recipes I've tried and am wanted to try since it looks to be another month of 'Stay at Home' activities. Enjoy!!
1. Joanna Gaines’ Banana Bread
Banana Bread is EVERYWHERE on Instagram. I'm a beginner baker and this recipe was easy for me to follow, hard for me not to inhale after baking.
2. The Pioneer Women Chicken Alfredo Stuffed Shells
3. Easy Classic Lasagna
4. Creamy Tuscan Chicken
5. Blackened Salmon Tacos
I cook some variations of tacos every Tuesday. It was refreshing to change out our normal ground beef/turkey for seafood style tacos
6. Roasted Garlic and Mushroom White Pizza
Pizza and cocktails are a Sunday tradition in our household so I've been finding some great pizza recipes to switch things up.
7. Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili
One day it's sunny and 75 and the next day it's 60 and rainy. I don't know how to dress for the day but during those chillier days, this (with a grilled cheese) is the perfect comfort food
8. Crispy Baked Chicken Wings
My husband LOVES chicken wings. He could eat them every single day and never grow tired Me? I like a little variety so we met in the middle and chicken wings are now a Wednesday tradition (I know it seems like we have planned dinners every day of the week (Pizza Sunday, Taco Tuesday, Wing Wednesday) and you would be correct. It takes the guess work of what we're cooking for dinner 3/7 days a week. We get creative with the variety but having some staples makes it easier on the ever evolving question 'what's for dinner'Husband loves to create different sauces for the wings. This past week? Hot BBQ Lemon Pepper!!
9. Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
My husband is weird and hates chocolate chips so I replaced them with white chocolate chunks and they were a hit (we may or may not have polished them off in 2 days)
10. Pan-Fried Steak with Crispy Potatoes & Asparagus
Great Friday Night dinner in the Sunroom while binge watching Ozark!
