My Book List for 2021
Before we get into this post, can we have a little check in?
How are you feeling at this moment?
Will chocolate or coffee make it better? Okay .... go get one (or both if you're fancy) and get back to this post
I fell off of a lot of things this year but one thing that remained constant was my love for books. At a time where we couldn't travel or even go outside at one point, books were my way to escape my four walls, barking down, and sports yelling husband. Every book and every chapter was a chance for me to immerse myself into new people, new places, and new plot twists.
I had a goal for 20 books this year and almost doubled that (32 to be exact).
I don't have a favorite genre but made it a point to read a mostly books by African American authors. With 2021, on the horizon, my goals is 25 books with at least 15 of them being from POC authors. Here's what my list looks like.
A great cover always gets me intrigued in the book.
I read her first book, The Poet X, and was immediately intrigued.
I know nothing about this author but when I saw it was based in Birmingham, Alabama (where I currently live), it immediately went on my 'to read' list
