72 Hours in My FAVE City – Savannah GA! Here’s how we spent it
There aren’t many cities that can give me big boost of creative energy. Many times, I go on vacation to sit back, relax, and recharge but Savannah is an entirely different vibe. I go to Savannah to get creative inspiration. From home décor to styling inspo, Savannah Georgia just does it for me. That’s the only way I can describe how I feel in the city.
Me and husband were blessed to visit Savannah on an influencer trip. We weren’t tied down with press obligations but rather our concept was to create content in one of our favorite cities in the South. Here’s how we spend 3+ glorious days:
Thursday
Checkin: Hotel Indigo
If you visit Savannah, you must stay in the downtown area. It can get a little pricey depending on the weekend but it’s so worth it! There are several hotels within a 10-block radius and any of them have what you’re looking for. Hotel Indigo was the perfect location for our trip (although looking at the new Marriott, I may have another fave hotel – despite the high (and I mean high) price tag.
Dinner: Old Pink House
This was a recommendation from the front desk of our hotel, and it did NOT disappoint. This was a restaurant I tried to make reservations for leading up to the trip, but they had nothing within the next 2 weeks. I was told to ‘just go and see – they aren’t very good with reservations. We decided to take their advice and they were correct. They didn’t have normal table seating but plenty of seats at the bar.
FRIDAY
Coffee: Bitty & Beau’s
While our hotel had breakfast, we were within walking distance to several coffee shops that we wanted to explore. This place, while having a great mission, had great coffee and a very tasty blueberry muffin
Shopping/Walking: Broughton Street
You didn’t think I would go on vacay and not shop, did you? This street has everything: H&M, Urban Outfitters, local shops, the best tea shop. Anything you could think of this street has it! We spent the better part of the day dipping in and out of stores to shop and when we needed a sweet treat, we visit Hokulia Shaked Ice for my first sno cone of the season.
Lunch: The Grove
Great Salads and sandwiches. Opt for the rooftop bar to get a nice view of Savannah while enjoying lunch
Tour of Squares
Did you know Savannah has over 20 squares? I’ve visiting at least 5 times and had no clue so we decided to play tourist and explore them. I would DEFINTELY recommend touring via car as I was exhausting from shopping, I made hubby go get the car after visiting the 3rd one! We couldn’t see all 20+ but we did get to 12 so I consider that a win
Dinner: Chart House
Right on the riverfront with great views of the review. I’m a believer in only getting seafood when I visit a coastal city, but the filet did NOT disappoint.
SATURDAY
Coffee: Blends A Coffee
We were going to lunch in a couple hours, so I just went for my fave vanilla latte – great!
Brunch: Belford’s Steak & Seafood
This place came highly recommended from a few followers that live in Savannah and I’m glad I listened. The crab cake benedict (Southern style) was amazing, and the service was just what you wanted from a great southern restaurant
Antiquing/Thrifting
When we road trip, I also make it a point to find local thrift and antique stores. 2 things I like to bring back with me from every city – a piece of jewelry and a piece of art. We didn’t find much luck in thrift stores but when it came to antiquing, we scored gold. Here’s a few that we visited that you need to visit.
Picker Joe’s Antique Mall & Vintage Market – home décor galore!
Attic Antiques – great selection of used/vintage books
Jere’s Antiques – more furniture than anything else but still great
GCD Home Furnishings & Décor – obsessed with everything in this store. They had a great selection of local art that I was able to snag
Grabbed a quick slice of pizza at Vinnie Van Go Goh’s (a Savannah staple - cash only) and a frozen Pina Colada at Wet Willes (a vacation staple)
Dinner Cruise: Savannah River Boat
This would have been a great cruise. The weather was perfect when we boarded, the ambiance was very sexy – and then the bottom fell out of the sky. Rain like you wouldn’t imagine. It would have still been okay but everyone from the top floor came down looking for shelter, so it quickly got crowded. Note: if you go, take a coat – it was easily low 60’s the entire time.
Late Dinner/Drinks: Electric Lounge & Baobab Bar
We didn’t eat on the cruise, so we were famished around 9:15ish when the boat docked. We walked past these 2 bars on the way to the cruise and decided to try them out. Electric Moon is a rooftop bar with views of the riverfront. The food was subpar, but the drinks were excellent.
After 10ish, it began to get too crowded, so we decided to checkout this African inspired bar also located in the Marriott. Baobab bar is in the corner of the hotel, so it’s often missed by many, but it is DEFINTELY a treasure. The drinks were great, the food looked so good (we missed the kitchen hours, so we were gazing at the food as it was leaving the kitchen) and the vibe was something I didn’t expect for downtown Savannah, GA.
SUNDAY
Coffee: The Coffee Fox
Tried something different (triple expresso over cold sweet foam with a splash of vanilla) and it was amazing. Where did I get this drink from? The woman in front of me ordered it and it sounded so intriguing so I tried it… it’s now my coffee drink moving forward.
Brunch: 700 Drayton
Loved the vibes in this restaurant and the French Toast was great. Mimosas were average. I feel they didn’t get the memo for the champagne/pineapple juice ratio. It’s supposed to be 95%/5% not 50%/50% but oh well…I still enjoyed
beach Day at Tybee Island
Now you guys know I couldn’t be this close to a beach and not get out and spend a day here. We started of out beach trip riding jet skis and spent a few hours sitting on the beach, reading my latest book, sipping Wet Willie’s Pina Coladas, and snacking on all the snacks I didn’t need but indulged in.
Dinner: Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant
Hands down the BEST food we had the ENTIRE time we were in Savannah GA. Visiting Havana a couple years ago has grown my passion for Ropa Viejo and this was the first place in the States where it tasted like authentic Cuban food. I can’t recommend it enough.
Monday
Coffee: Origin Coffee Bar
I hate I found this on the way out. It had major Instagram vibes. The coffee and pastry were the perfect pick me up for the 5 hour ride home.
We’ll that’s it guys! Our 3 day jam pack itinerary of Savannah. Hope you enjoyed!
