Monthly Favorites || February 18
It's that time! My monthly post of a few things I'v bought the past month that I'm in love with. This month was hard for me to narrow down on a few things because I did a little too much shopping, but they aren't expensive so I guess that's a good thing.
Sephora Cleansing Oil - $15.00
The past couple of months, I've been obsessed with my skin care routine. I had a my bi annual appointment with my dermatologist and he suggested using some kind of oil based cleanser to remove my makeup after the wipe. He saw where under my eye and around my nose were a little raw from the harsh rubbing of the wipe trying to take my makeup off. I picked up this cleansing out because I love some of the natural ingredients (cottonseed and sunflower oil). I used a sample while I was at Sephora and saw how effectively it removed the numerous lippies I had sampled on my hand.
Johnson and Johnson Baby Oil Gel - $6.50
The winter has been havoc on my skin. I have tried lotions, and body butters, and thick body creams and it still feels like my skin wasn't as moisturized as it normally is. My older sister put me on this oil gel. She actually mixes and creates her own body butter (which feels SO GOOD) and uses this in her concoction. I guess I'm not that dedicated to my skin care because I wasn't ready to make that DIY commitment. I did pick this up and use it in conjunction with my body lotion.
Garnier Fructis Smoothing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask - $2.99
I was in Walmart (buying things that weren't on my list) and came across these mini hair masks by Garnier. I didn't buy them because I didn't think they would work on my hair. A couple days later while scrolling IG, I came across one of my followers that was using this in her hair and had some great things to say about it so I decided (since we had the same hair pattern) to pick one up the next time I was out. I bought the Avocado and Coconut Extract and I love them both. For such a small price point, you can't beat the quality.
Salon Perfect Demi Wispies - $8.44
I don't wear lashes everyday but when I do I like to go for the 'dramatic yet still natural' effect. These lashes give me that look without making me feel that I have spider legs on my eyes. I also love the price point. No they aren't mink or expensive lashes but I normally can get 2-3 wears from each of them before trashing them. I take them off at night and sit them in makeup remover to remove the mascara and glue from the previous wear.
Luna Highlighter - $23.00
Okay I honestly didn't know how expensive this highlighter was until I was drafting this blog post. This highlighter came in my IPSY bag for February and I fell in love with it. I haven't bought highlighters in a while because I have a ton and didn't see the need to buy different variations of the ones I already have but when this came I was a believer. Side Note: If you haven't signed up for IPSY, I don't know what more to convenience you this is a great glam bag. I only pay 10 bucks a months and get 4-6 items each month. Considering this item alone was over 20 dollars, I know this was a great deal. You can sign up here or here or even here!!
Covergirl Matte Lippe - $6.94
I think I'm on a hunt to find the best red lip (or see how many I can buy). That's the only way I can explain my infatuation for buying so many red lippies the past couple of months. Pros for this particular red lip:
- Price point
- Lasting stay
- Goes on smooth and dries matte
- Doesn't leave lips dry
Balmain x L'Oreal Lipstick - $13.99Can I be honest? I initially only bought this lipstick because it was in collaboration with Balmain and I know I'll never own anything else Balmain anytime soon. So I coughed up the 14 bucks and took this home. Finally got around to trying it a couple of weeks ago and YA'LL........this lippie was everything. It went on so smooth and velvety. It a mix (to me at least) between a matte and a satin. I would have went back for 1 or 2 more but the lip colors are dark skin approved so this one is going to have to suffice.That's it for February. Make sure you follow the blog and check out my other posts.~Cocoa Curls
