You’re Traveling? Make Sure Your Traveling With These Snacks

I love traveling. If there was some way I could make a living from it, sign me up. One thing I’m not a fan of when traveling is the high cost of food at airports. I haven’t been to an airport that didn’t charge at least $3 for a bottle of water or $10+ for simple sandwich and chips. In my early days of traveling, I was just so excited to get out of the South; I gladly swiped my card for a turkey sub and chips. Now, the more ‘experienced’ me realized I’m being bamboozled out of my money and decided to bring snacks with me to tie me over during my traveling days and long layovers. Here are few items that I don’t leave the house without.

Honey Almond Butter Squeeze Packs by Justin's

large Great to pair with pretzels or a bagel (if you can find a microwave or toaster)

Organic Fruit Snacks

To satisfy my sweet tooth without totally compromising my waist line as I sit for hours on an uncomfortable plane.

Quaker Instant Oats - Steel Cut

Quaker-Real-Medleys-Granola-Yogurt-Blend-Just-Add-Milk-ggnoadsI try to avoid early flights but sometimes, it's inevitable. When I'm in a rush and can't get breakfast before I leave the house, I put a couple of these in my bag and get some hot water from the flight attendant.

Travel Size Nuts

I love to pack travel size nuts with my on a trip. It's an easy food to snack on without being so heavy on the wallet. These Emerald nuts are one of my favorites.

Green Tea

Water should always been your first option when flying. However, water can get boring so I like to bring a few packets of green tea with me and with my water bottle, I can enjoy enjoy it hot or cold.

Smartfood Popcorn

2015-03-06 02.53.15 1I'm a chip fanatic. It's unreal my love for a potato and it's that reason why I purposely do not take them with me when traveling (the same is true for Coke). While I love those lightweight chips of joy, they are very heavy on the stomach and the last that thing I want is to feel sluggish....so I take a couple of bags of popcorn to satiate that 'crunch' without weighing me down.

Apples

Should be self-explanatory....an apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Turkey Jerky

A like to take jerky with me for when I think I'm hungry but in reality, I just want something in my mouth (sounds weird I know). Turkey jerky is a little more tender to me than beef jerky and I have ZERO time trying to spend 10 mins to chew on bland beef jerkey! What are some of your go-to travel snacks?
